The Virtual Esperanto Congress is the largest online event for Esperanto speakers, organized by UEA annually since the end of the year 2020. Last year, 1482 people from 98 countries participated! The VEC is rich in interesting lectures, artistic and cultural presentations, and social programs. Here's another opportunity to engage with Esperanto at the Universal Esperanto Congress!

During the VEC, participants from different countries connect, learn something new during real-time diverse lectures, take part in courses, workshops, and discussions, learn more about the Esperanto movement during the Virtual Movement Fair, and much more!

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Fascinating Lectures

Throughout VEC, several live lectures will take place, including those on this year's main theme, "Emigration - Confluence of Human Values." During the lectures, you can pose questions to the speakers.

Missed a lecture or it was at an inconvenient time? You can watch its recording right after the lecture ends! Recordings will be available until the end of December.

Courses, Workshops, Discussions

Apart from lectures, there will be many other programs where you can actively participate or simply observe—courses, panel discussions, conversations with famous Esperanto speakers, presentations of new books, and much more!

Artistic Program

Don't miss concerts, artistic presentations, meetings with authors, and other cultural programs that allow you to enjoy the talent of Esperanto speakers and explore cultures from around the world.

Virtual Movement Fair (ViMF)

Similar to the in-person Universal Congresses, several Esperanto associations and initiatives are invited to present themselves and their activities to all congress participants. The Virtual Movement Fair takes place before and after the "core program" – see details on the program page.

Conversational Spaces

Throughout the entire Virtual Congress, 24/7 video chat rooms will function, where you can meet other congress participants and discuss the proposed theme. These spaces are unmoderated and without specific topics. Additionally, there will be general ongoing chat rooms without themes that operate throughout the entire event.

Modern Esperanto-Language Virtual Conference System

The Virtual Congress will be hosted on Retevent - a virtual conference platform created by E@I, which has been used for previous Virtual Congresses and several other international virtual events. It works directly in your web browser, displays the program in your local timezone, and has many other useful features.

ORGANIZERS

The 4th Virtual Esperanto Congress (VEC) is organized by the Universal Esperanto Association, in official relations with the UN and UNESCO. Leading the organizing team is UEA's Vice President, Fernando Maia Jr., also responsible for Culture and Congresses. The technical team of the non-profit Esperanto organization E@I collaborates and provides technical support. Coordinating the musical program is Floréal Martorell and the Eurokka/Vinilkosmo team.
